Buzzard's Roost

A little lumpy, but it's finished.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Texas is having a really bad drought again this year, so all fire works have been cancelled this year in our area.   :((((
My daughter Shelley and oldest Granddaughter Isla are coming for the 4th!!
I'm sure they have something in mind for fun.
I was so excited today.  A beautiful deer was roaming around my yard.  She sure was pretty.  Looked a little plump.....hmmm.....maybe she had some fireworks of her own.
Basket Weave
That's it for me today.  I HAVE to do some laundry.
Have a great evening.
Easy Block but sewed it twice....
The book showed this block, Autumn Tints, sewn in 3 colors and it looked great.  Not so much when I tried it.  I used fabrics other than my Wiscassets fabric, but didn't like it much.
Not Wicasset Fabric.....yuck!
It's so hot here in Texas!!!
Great Quilt Shop in.............
Waxahachie, Texas
I purchased a couple of fat quarters.
I am mostly an online shopper, because the LQS are usually packed too tight for my comfort.  And lets face it, I just don't go out much.  However, I did stopped by the Common Threads Quilting  Shop in Waxahachie on the way back from returning my grandkids.
This is a great store!  If you get the chance stop by and check it out.
I didn't get a picture of the store, but they also have an online Common Threads Quilting  shop that shows a picture of the outside.  This is really a cute shop and a cute town.
Plenty of room to go down the isles and stand back and check out the fabrics.  It's so organized.
Broken Dishes
The Farmer's Wife Sampler
Broken Dishes
We were invaded by Aliens...........Help!
We found this beautiful almost teen lurking in our bathroom.
Then came these two alien siblings found trying to steal our computers.
Mick went and soaked them all at the local watering hole and.......
One came back smiling.
This one also, but
This one had to go back for multiple soakings.
Three of my dear grandkids came for some fun.  We took them back home on Friday and now we have the empty nest syndrome..................   :(((
They will be back in a couple of weeks with my oldest granddaughter.
More pictures to come....grin.
New Farmers Wife Sampler Block
Box
Wow!  This one gave me a run for my money.  This is a simple block until I added the directional fabric.  This is try number 3.....phew.  That it kids.  No 4th try for me.
I'M FINISHED
Thank you DAWN!!!!
I went to Dawn's website  Quilts and Pieces to check out her tutorial for the Quilting Tool Caddy.  Great tute Dawn. Of course, I saved it and stayed to look around.
Over to the right I found a button that took me to her Dear Jane Blog.  I sent Dawn an email and told her I wanted to do that also!!!!  She patiently worked with me yesterday and today, and I now have my own Dear Jane blog and button attaching it to my regular blog.  She made the button picture for me out of one of my own blocks........How coool is that.
Thanks Dawn for all your time.  I had a blast!
Woo Hoo I made a block today!!!
This block is called Bouquet.
I sure felt good to complete a block.
Everyone have a great evening.
It's Molly's Place...
I started my blog reading today at It's Molly's Place.  She wrote a beautiful tribute to her Mom and shared one of her Mom's poems.
Please go by Molly's today and read about her Mom.  Don't forget the poem!
New Desk for New Computer....
The look of that box made me nervous...yikes!
Big Mick did the honors of assembly.
All setup!!!
There is no more room to move in here.  I think my study is about 11 X 13 or something like that.  We have 3 desk in here, 1 book shelf, 1 lazy boy, and one tall file cabinet - plus an end table, shredder, and a huge set of Mom's genealogy books on the floor.
It's full!!
None of the woods match.  This desk was suppose to be dark walnut, but definitely has a cherry wood color to it.  What do they call that when nothing matches.....eclectic??
Have a great DAY!!
Simple Things Quilt Along and a cute button...grin.
Here's a new quilt along.  Go to Cotton Charm Quilts
and check out there Simple Things Quilt Along.
I just love the button!
Here's My Man....grin
Love watching him work in the yard.  Especially if he's on his riding lawn mower.  Alas, it's broken so no cowboy photos of him riding his horse (mower).
This is a giant leaf from the potato vine.....wow.
